EnerSearch ThermoColour Is a well known fact that fossil energy has to be substituted by renewable energy to reduce CO2 emissions. In order to save heating costs in a short run it is necessary to insulate the existing buildings. But an Exterior Insulating and Finishing System (EFIS) is quite costly. The EnerSearch ThermoColour was developed out of the need to provide affordable and easy to handle solutions. By simple layers of coating it provides excellent thermal insulation to a building not allowing any carrier of thermal transmittance including air. The insulation colour comprises of nano-technologic insulating agents which consist of micro spheres encapsulated by a gas tight thermoplastic shell. This is already expanded by heat and causes a dramatic change in the volume of the agents and creates a low weight volumetric air trapping net. The effects of the ThermoColour in German climatic conditions are currently tested.
